Wonderful Weddings & Events, founded in 1989, is the original and longest-established wedding design, planning, and coordination company in Orlando. Our longevity is attributed to the quality of service provided and industry vendors we partner with to create a wonderful wedding experience. Our team has over 60 years combined experience.

Barbara White - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

BARBARA WHITE – OWNER

 

Barbara White, along with her husband, Simon White, owns VIP Transportation Group, VIP Wedding Transportation, and Wonderful Weddings & Events. Barbara, a Michigan native now living in Clermont, is a 1990 graduate of Nova University. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management while also making the Dean’s List. Before starting her own company with Simon, Barbara worked as an International Sales Manager for Alamo Rent A Car and Best Western International.

 

Barbara and Simon started their first company, VIP Transportation Group, in 2000 with one borrowed vehicle. Today, they have a fleet of over 30 vehicles serving the entire Central Florida market. Barbara serves on the board of the Central Florida Livery Association (CFLA) as Treasurer, and is also Treasurer of the Florida Region of the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club. In addition, she is a proud member of WeddingWire, The Knot, The Perfect Wedding Guide, ABC, and Central Florida Bride.

 

Throughout Barbara’s career, she was always involved in planning and managing events. In 2002, she decided to expand the company to include wedding transportation, and VIP Wedding Transportation was born. VIP Wedding Transportation now offers a fleet of classic cars and modern vehicles, including everything from sedans to buses for weddings. VIP Wedding Transportation has grown substantially throughout the years, and now provides transportation for over 700 weddings a year.

 

In 2015, Barbara and Simon’s portfolio expanded once more to include Wonderful Weddings, the first and oldest-running and first wedding planning company in Central Florida. The original name was expanded to Wonderful Weddings & Events, and a new effort to drive the company forward began.

 

Wonderful Weddings & Events now focuses on combining its long-running history of excellence with providing the latest technology to clients, merging traditional with modern to create dream weddings and events. We will also target the special events market to include, birthdays, engagements, holidays, retirements, and themed parties and events.

Galen Hentzell - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

GALEN HENTZELL – MANAGER INTIMATE & DESTINATION WEDDINGS

 

Galen joined the Wonderful Weddings & Event Team in 2016. After Spending 20 years in Retail Management, he transitioned into the transportation industry, where he has dedicated the last 8 years. He has held many roles, such as a chauffeur specializing in weddings and celebrity clientele, to various sales and marketing roles. Galen became the Wedding and Events Manager for VIP Wedding Transportation in 2015. After becoming a Certified Wedding Planner in 2016, his role was expanded to include Manager of Intimate & Destination Weddings. Galen will head this segment of our business and bring on new venues and ideas as we move forward. His passion for the wedding industry, as well as dedication and experience make him a valuable asset to our team.

 

Born in Indiana, Galen has lived in Orlando since 1976, where he is a big part of the Orlando community. He dedicates his time volunteering and is the current Chairman for the Fundraising Committee as well as on the President’s Advisory Council at the GLBT Center of Central Florida. Galen’s passion lies in helping people, which shows in both his personal and professional life.

Jennifer Sharpe - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

JENNIFER SHARPE – INDEPENDENT LEAD/ASSOCIATE

 

Jennifer is a born and raised Floridian from the West Coast of the Sunshine State. She grew up in Largo, a small city between Clearwater and St. Petersburg, and attended the University of Central Florida, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management. Once she graduated, Jennifer decided to stay in Orlando with the thriving hospitality and event industry, and she never left! Jennifer and her husband are college sweethearts, marrying shortly after their graduation. They now have two beautiful daughters who bring joy, love, and chaos to the couple’s busy lives.

 

Ever since she was a little girl, Jennifer was passionate about planning parties. Her family gatherings under an Italian upbringing always included 15+ guests at her grandmother’s house – a tradition that Jennifer continues today in her own home, opening her kitchen and dining room to all of her family and friends on every holiday. She loves to cook, and Jennifer’s passion is bringing HGTV design and Food Network cooking to life!

 

Jennifer’s illustrious resume of 20+ years within the Orlando event industry includes 10 years of organizing weddings and events at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel, as well as 7 years at The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. Her partnerships with all of the top-rated vendors and her friendships with other planners, hotels, and her past clients give Jennifer a proven reputation for knowledge and professionalism in the business. Once you meet her, you will feel her positive energy, sense of style, and polish. You will rest assured knowing that your wedding or event will be a wonderful blend of traditional and modern styles.

Susie Weiss - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

SUSIE WEISS – INDEPENDENT LEAD/ASSOCIATE

 

Susie founded Wonderful Weddings in 1989 after spending more than a year of research before launching the company, and brought her 12 years of event planning experience in the public broadcasting and tourism arenas. In December of 2015, Susie sold the company to the current owner’s Barbara and Simon White with the intent they both would continue to grow and expand the brand. Susie is married with two grown daughters, and currently lives in Winter Park, Florida.

 

“Over the past 27 years I have won awards. You will frequently see Wonderful Weddings & Events quoted in various local and national bridal publications. Aside from these, the most important thing to me as a wedding planner is the help, guidance, and stress relief that I have provided, and will continue to provide to the many clients with whom we have had the pleasure to work with. That is the substance of a remarkable wedding planner.” Susie’s day-to-day responsibilities include responding to new client inquiries, budget planning, assistance with venue and vendor selection, and detailed management of the wedding. She also serves as lead or associate coordinator for wedding day coverage.

Linda Frisard - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

LINDA FRISARD – INDEPENDENT LEAD/ASSOCIATE

 

A seasoned wedding and event planner, Linda has had the extreme privilege of working with the most amazing people. Having the honor of planning and producing professional athletes weddings, sporting events, concerts and corporate functions, has also given Linda the opportunity to travel the nation, adding more experience and comprehensive knowledge. A native from New Orleans, Louisiana, Linda brings warmth and soul to all her events.

EMILY DARLING – INDEPENDENT LEAD/ASSOCIATE

 

Emily brings 14 years of wedding planning and catering experience and over 500 weddings to her credit, Emily remains passionate, detailed, professional and organized. Those skills are apparent as she works with her brides during the planning process and throughout the wedding day.

 

Prior to working with Wonderful Weddings & Event team, Emily was a catering and on-site event coordinator for an award winning catering company and a high end wedding consultant in Central Florida.

 

Emily is inspired by love, family, engagement stories, and works toward making each couples wedding dreams come true. Emily possesses the uncanny ability to keep each bride and her bridal party relaxed and confident throughout the planning process and the entire wedding day. In her downtime, you will find Emily spending time with her husband and two little boys. She loves running, cooking for her friends and family and relaxing at the beach.

Brian Joyce - Wonderful Weddings & Events

 

BRIAN JOYCE – FLORAL & DESIGN

 

Brian heads the team at Flourish Floral Productions with whom he owns with his partner Richard Streitler, and serves as the design arm of Wonderful Weddings & Events. His keen eye provides the assurance that everything is in place, and his calming personality relieves the stress for our brides. “Richard and I have done over 90 weddings with Wonderful Weddings & Events in the past nine years. During that time, we have observed their performance and notice they were clearly a shining star in the wedding planning, management, and coordination industry. It only made sense for us to add their services to our offerings at Flourish. and in turn for me to join their team as lead designer”.
